New Seafoam Real Rock Jugs to complete the full series we have! 3 new easy problems V0, V1, and V2 have been added to the walls. Some of you are going to think I'm an idiot and some of you will think I'm awesome for being a person of commitment. I am a follower of Jesus. (I tell everyone that shouldn't be a shock) I go to Crossroads Church. I believe in things that they are doing. They want to expand their awesome camp land that are helping and healing people. Be the home church at every prison in the USA. End the rape for profit industry and help people rescued from the rape for profit industry in India and Nepal. Buy more buildings in the USA to help others come to a relationship with Jesus. What does this have to do with the CRUX? I have decided after a bit of consideration that for the next 3 years, I'm putting my money where my mouth is. I'm committing amost all the money I would have bought more holds with to Crossroads Church. Being transparent, it's about $12,000. I already give them a crap ton of money, but they are doing good things, so I'm sacrificing with a bunch of other family there by doing this. So... let's enjoy what we have now for the next 3 years. Knowing we are changing the world using what we have!

Thanks to Auntie Barb and Dennis for bringing me a new medicine ball. Or Bear a fresh pumpkin. After a few more sets, I get it into his bed for him. This sweet boy loves his pumpkins, pigs, and snowmen.

Now, for your amusement at The CRUX, as big as they come 150lb medicine ball, I got a little bit early for my 40th birthday next Friday. This is a video of my Gremlins and friends cheering me on for my first press with my new toy.

Friday Night Climbing at The CRUX with The CRUX lord!

Some people I know think I'm the strongest person they know. I think people who know me well know I'm one of the softest too. My Elijah passed away two years ago today. Today, I cried more than a few times, reminisced, and smiled a bunch. Here are some pictures to show you how much I love, how much I'm proud, and how much I miss my son Lijah. Our 9 foot wide picture above my seat in the dining room, all his favorite stuff in my living room, his favorite blanket and stuffed dog I fall asleep with every night in my hands, Kate's pillow she sleeps with made from his onesies; I always held him on my left side of my lap so he leaned into me more because his spine curved that way. I always wanted the same thing on my birthday... to hold Lijah, have fresh rolls and cake. And spending his last night on earth snuggling me. I love you, buddy. I'll see you when I finish my race. Tell Jesus not to hog all your attention when I get there. I only got Lijah because he was given to me to teach me about God and unconditional love. Best teacher ever.

No filter. The Strong Boys just look that good together! We spent our Sunday climbing session as a full team putting up 18 add-on problems V0 to V4. Everyone enjoy!

Parenting 11 kids has been a struggle. It's often is more work, broken stuff, and pain than fun or good. We try hard to build values of Jesus... generosity, compassion, and intentionally into our kids. Every once in awhile you do feel super proud of your younglings. Like this weekend. 1) My daughter, age 16, decided to sponsor a child from Compassion International (at $43 a month of her money, not mine) to help someone she doesn't know in poverty have a better future with promise. 2) My boys are becoming men on their hands, and knees cleaning the gym after others spilled infinite chalk all week. Serving the community of climbing. 3) My 15 year old, without being asked, was "caught" playing with the 4 year old to build relationship. Seeing life wins with the losses is important to keep us going sometimes.

The CRUX Sanctuary 2024 Bouldering Competition Problems Thanks for the help setting Andy and Evan!

It's HERE! This is kickoff weekend. All problems are set numbered and ready to go! 575 Elberon Ave Cincinnati, OH 45205 As a reminder for my non readers May 18th is just for Queen City Circuit full package competitors. May 19th anyone can come. Competition ends May 24th at 11PM.

On May 5th, we (Gregg and Kate - The CRUX lord and Lady CRUX) will be hosting an adoption party for my last two little guys we will be adopting. Malaki and Xavier! This will be a drop-in event from 1PM to 5PM. We will have cake, chips, and a bunch of friends stopping by. Feel free to come on by and say congratulations. @ktatthecrux

We are excited to announce our 2024 annual bouldering competition! There are two pieces to the competition as part of the same comp. The Queen City Circuit Comp portion: May 18 Due to wall and observation space limitations, we will have three different times slots for the Circuit. 9 AM - 11 AM Recreational Division 12 PM - 2 PM Intermediate Division 3 PM - 5 PM Advanced Division This portion of The CRUX Bouldering Comp is only for those competing in the Circuit who purchased the entire series months ago, and your scores can qualify you for the Circuit finals at CTO on June 15. There will be 50 problems available to send, and those will count towards your score cards for the everyone CRUX Bouldering Comp starting the next day on May 19th. (Kind of a mini head start for The CRUX comp) The CRUX Bouldering Comp: May 19 @8 AM - May 24 @11 PM For anyone who is a climber. Free. Come as much as you'd like, send as many of the 50 problems as hard as you can for 6 days. Your top 5 scores will count. It is a projecting comp, so categories will be assigned with mildly harder divisions. This year, we have created a Women's Division! All winners will be given a custom CRUX trophy (including a You Tried the Hardest trophy) and some swag. No sign ups are required for this competition. (The Queen City Circuit competitors can not change the outcome for the results of May 18 portion but can still win The CRUX Comp)

Got some sweet new Real Rock Buckets (full set A) from Rock Candy Holds! These holds were purchased just for V0 and our Airbnb guest routes. My 3 year old flashed the vert problem!

Our 20-year wedding anniversary is this week! (We are 38 and 39 years old, since I know we dont look it). We will have formal wear as suggested attitre for this coming Friday night climbing event to celebrate. This picture represents American Gothic; Our actual marriage is genuinely happy.

Got in some CRUX family bouldering and camping down in Walker's Branch in Foxtown, KY. All fun climbs. The only notable send was V7 Shredder (my 12th of the grade).

Resetting the Shocker Boulder! We'll have a good fill-in of problems started with more going up tomorrow.
